| Chemical Resistance
|
PTFE is resistant to virtually all chemicals , even at very high temperatures and pressures. It is only affected under certain conditions by elementary fluorine, strong fluorinating agents( such as chlorine trifluoride) and molten alkali metals (such as metallic sodium). | ||||
| Temperature Resistance | PTFE components can be used at temperatures ranging from approximately -200.C to +260.C. | ||||
| Electric Insulator | PTFE has excellent electric properties which remain constant independent of frequency and temperature. | ||||
| Coefficient of Friction | PTFE has the lowest coefficient of friction of all solid materials. | ||||
| Antistick Effect | PTFE is an anti-adhesive ,i.e. other materials do not adhere to PTFE. | ||||
| No Health Hazard | PTFE can be safely used up to temperatures of +260.C (does not apply to all fillers). | ||||

PTFE Rope Gasket is a specially formulated sealing material that withstands vibration, wide operating temperature range and has extremely low coefficient of frication. The friction free characteristic promotes smoother action and increases the life of the gasket many times over. It is used as a gasket on flanged connections , pressure vessels and all other similar mating faces as well packing for valves and similar gland applications . | Photo | PTFE THREAD SEALANT TAPE Unsintered pure PTFE in tape form is the standard material for sealing threaded joints and connections . Joints can be taken apart long afterward without any trouble. It is virtually a universal sealing material which can be used on pipes of galvanised Iron, Rubber, Copper , Plastic, Brass , Aluminum , Stainless steel , Ceramic , Monel , Carbon etc. The inherent plasticity of PTFE allows it to extrude in to the irregularities of the thread , so filling any voids or passages. This gasket are successfully used in chemical plants , Glass / Glass Lined equipment due to their high temperature , Corrosion and ageing resistance . Envelope gasket are produced in two forms : - Milled and Slit forms: Milled type envelope is perhaps the better of the two since it is made to fit the insert and presents a flat face to the flange .The slit type is perfectly adequate for many applications where cost is a major considerations. The envelope in this variety does not present a full face to the flange .Solid gasket can be made to order in different types of shapes and sizes
